Abilities and Stat Bonuses
Fire Chao are a Rare Ranked Support Chao. Fire Chao grant the player the ability to walk on fire blocks and they reduce damage from all cold sources. Fire Chao also grant immunity to the following debuffs; Burning, Frozen, Chilled and On Fire!
How to obtain this Chao
You can obtain this Chao by feeding your Chao 80 Charred Fruit and 120 Living Fire Blocks.
Chao Lore and Personality
Fire Chao are extremely curious and friendly Chao. Unfortunately, they're always on fire and they burn just about everything they touch. Fire Chao hate going in the water but if you put a Fire Chao in the water, the flames around their body will go out and they'll become tired until they relight the flames after a few minutes. Fire Chao are usually only kept by specialized gardeners who can properly take care of them and their garden because Fire Chao tend to accidentally set gardens ablaze in seconds. You can purchase special gloves from the Black Market Chao in order to pick up and carry Fire Chao. Fire Chao can't swim because of their quick exhaustion when their flames are put out and they can't learn to read or write because they set books and most writing tools on fire. Fire Chao excel at Chao karate because their fire makes attackers take damage and their fiery punches deal extra damage. Fire Chao love to burn their fruit to a crisp before eating it so they'll carry it around in their hands or put it on their head for awhile until it's nice and charred. Gardeners can help them speed up the process by throwing fruit into a furnace for them but even if they don't, Fire Chao love the activity so it doesn't matter to them.
Chao History
Fire Chao weren't always called Fire Chao, they used to be called Flame Chao and there used to be only one of them in the mod. They have been in the garden for two years now and untouched which was a really big problem because they were very outdated and near impossible to obtain on certain worlds, combined with the fact that even if you obtained them, sacrificing a lava charm for a Fire Chao was not worth it because they didn't provide any lava protection, so I decided to remove that as a requirement.
This Chao was very hard to design as is most fire related sprites. After much trial and error, the Fire Chao you see here came to be. I hope that one day, a talented spriter comes along and animates Fire Chao better so their head is flowing back and fourth, like a real fire. Until then, we have what we have and I like what we have so I'm not bothered or going to actively seek out someone to make that change.
Special Garden Background
The Fire Chao background and Sonics coloring were inspired by Angel Island Zone Act 2.
